If any part of this site gets in your way, we want to hear about it and fix it.
Our commitment
Getting care for an animal should not depend on being able to use a mouse, see fine detail, or read small text. We built this site so that the things that matter most, our phone number, our hours, our address and our forms, are reachable however you browse.
The standard we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 at level AA. That is a target we work toward rather than a certification we hold, and we treat any gap between the target and the site as something to fix.
What this site does
- An accessibility panel, reachable from the button in the lower corner of every page, with larger text, high contrast, underlined links, more readable spacing, and a control to pause motion. Your choices are remembered on your own device.
- A skip link, so a keyboard or screen reader user can jump straight to the main content.
- Semantic landmarks and one main heading per page, so a screen reader can navigate by structure.
- Visible focus outlines on every interactive element, and a keyboard path through every menu, question and form.
- Text descriptions on images that carry meaning.
- Text and background colours checked against the contrast requirements, including on our darker sections.
- Full respect for your system's reduced-motion setting. Animation is decoration here, and no content is ever hidden if animation does not run.
- Forms with real labels, required fields announced rather than only marked with a symbol, and touch targets large enough to hit.
Known limitations
The map on our contact page is embedded from Google and we do not control its accessibility. Our address is written out in text directly above it, and directions are available as a plain link, so you never need to use the map itself.
Online appointment booking and online prescription refills are handled on separate websites operated by Weave and Covetrus. We do not control those, and we cannot make claims about them. If either one is difficult to use, call us and we will do it for you.
Some of our consent forms are long, because the language in them is required. We have grouped them into sections and stated the length before you begin, but they are still long.
